The text wants to offer itself as a verification exercise of Bakhtin’s definition of chronotope in the specific case of a thirteenth-century castilian text: the "Libro de Alexandre. Because of the specific literary structure of the Alexandre, we will distinguish between a chronotope of the narrative, that is, of the process of storytelling, or “external”, and a chronotope of the narrated subject, or “inner”. it will pay specific attention to the chronotope linked to the wonderful journeys of Alexander, the aerial and the underwater one: i’ll define it as a “chronotope of revelation”.
