Vapour Pressure Measurements on Spin-Polarized Liquid He-3

Abstract : Experimental investigation of liquid/vapour equilibrium of spin-polarized He-3 is under progress, using laser optical pumping techniques to achieve high nuclear polarization rates. So far, the vapour pressure has been observed to increase when the polarization is destroyed. Preliminary measurements on the temperature and polarization dependance of this increase are reported. They can be analyzed assuming that the rapid change in the polarization of the system is adiabatic.
