Résumé
In relation to the “Parallèle burlesque” between Rabelais and Homer by Dufresny - an account of the first critical edition of Rabelais and the translation of Homère by Anne Dacier (Mercure galant, 1711) - this book brings together research on the turning point between the end of the reign of Louis IV and the beginning of that of Louis XV, on the Quarrel of the Ancients and the Moderns, on the politics and artistic tastes of the Regent, and on the return to Rabelais, whose work is in “l’Index” as a symbol of French gaiety and directness.
À propos du « Parallèle burlesque » entre Rabelais et Homère de Dufresny – compte rendu de la première édition critique de Rabelais et de la traduction d’Homère par Anne Dacier (Mercure galant, 1711) –, recherches sur le tournant du règne finissant de Louis XIV et du règne commençant de Louis XV, sur la Querelle des Anciens et des Modernes, sur la politique et les goûts artistiques du Régent, sur le retour à Rabelais, dont l’œuvre est à « l’Index », comme symbole de franchise et gaieté françaises.
