"Du sujet à l'objet : de l'idée d'un profil SEGPA" à celles des conditions de possibilités d'une entrée en SEGPA1"

Abstract : How to transform a theme research into a sociological subject? This presentation aims at exposing the inevitable process of deconstruction and (re)construction, which is necessary to define a sociological subject in the ongoing PhD program in sociology about SEGPA (which can be translated into the "appropriate general and vocational education class") as well as the young pupils who, from 11 to 16 year old, are schooled in them. More precisely, the question is: who are the SEGPA students? In order to answer this question, the different institutional preconstructions will be exposed, as well as the effects they produce on the construction and definition of the field research. Also, it will be shown how the data, collected through an inductive approach, allow the used category of a "SEGPA profile" to be deconstructed to reason in terms of possibility prerequisites to redirect pupils in this specific school track.
