Mercados regionales de la migración irregular en el Caribe y Centroamérica

Abstract : This presentation focuses on the new migratory routes in the Americas inrecent years. It shows how some of the Latin American countries became important stages of undocumented migration to the United States and how human trafficking markets emerge as a result of differences in migration policies from one country to the other. These markets are the place of interaction between buyers (irregular migrants) and sellers (migration intermediaries called “coyotes”) and pose, as will be discussed, challenges for the governments in the region.
