Abstract : In this paper we describe the design, realization and evaluation of a course for elementary preservice teachers, applying the PPDAC-cycle (Wild & Pfannkuch, 1999), using innovative methods and digital tools like TinkerPlots (Konold & Miller, 2011). We will refer to design principles of the course and show in which way a stepwise development of statistical literacy and thinking with TinkerPlots works in cooperative learning environments.
