Abstract : After first proposing a definition of Old Malay as the variant of the Malay language found in documents written in an Indic system of writing, this contribution opens with some examples of the kinds of linguistic and cultural historical data that can be found in Old Malay epigraphy. Its main contribution is a provisional inventory of the corpus of Old Malay inscriptions.
