La construction d'un vodou Haïtien savant.

The attempt to reconstruct a genealogy of scholarly productions of the cult reveals an image of voodoo which would be that of a religious system closed on itself. The foundations of this voodoo scholar were laid during the founding period of the 1920s to the 1950s, the years 1930-40 being marked by the presence of many foreign researchers in Haiti and the emergence of the Haitian school of ethnology. The cult was constructed as an isolate by evacuating the contexts of observation and enunciation yet submitted to the reports of power, in terms of class and race, which mark the Haitian social and political landscape (Béchacq 2006a: 78 -84) .. "Vodou" is a generic term for a whole religious, philosophical, therapeutic, aesthetic system ... a true holistic vision of the human being in the universe. In this contribution, I will focus on its religious dimension which is the most analyzed in the academic literature. From a religious point of view, the Haitian voodoo is a cult of two rites (Beauvoir-Dominique 2005a: 60-6). L'essai de reconstruction d'une généalogie des productions savantes du culte fait apparaître une image du vodou qui serait celle d'un système religieux clos sur lui-même. Les bases de ce vodou savant furent posées pendant la période fondatrice des années 1920 aux années 1950, les années 1930-40 étant marquées par la présence de nombreux chercheurs étrangers en Haïti et par l'émergence de l'école haïtienne d'ethnologie. Le culte fut construit comme un isolat en évacuant les contextes d'observation et d'énonciation pourtant soumis aux rapports de pou-voir, en termes de classe et de race, qui marquent le paysage social et politique haïtien (Béchacq 2006a: 78-84).. «Vodou» est un terme générique qui désigne tout un système religieux, philosophique, thérapeutique, esthétique…, une véritable vision holiste de l'être humain dans l'univers. Dans cette contribution , je mettrai l'accent sur sa dimension religieuse qui est la plus analysée dans la littérature universitaire. D'un point de vue religieux, le vodou haïtien est un culte constitué de 2 rites (Beauvoir-Dominique 2005a: 60-6).
