La fonction patrimoniale du langage : un moyen d'entraînement de la langue orale à l'école

Abstract : The patrimonial function of the language ensures the continuation of the spoken linguistic heritage over multiple generations. As a universal cultural phenomenon, this function is discussed, in this article, in connection with the levels of memory ability. This research among primary school children (last year of nursery school, first preparatory class and grade five in primary schools) demonstrated the impact of a regular training in work memory after 14 weeks of practice. These results are discussed using the Baddeley's model of the phonological loop. Thus, training in ritualistic oral practices is therefore one of the ways in training oral language at school
