Nouvelles recherches sur le site de la Lède du Gurp (Grayan-et-l’Hôpital, Gironde): résultats préliminaires

Abstract : Faced with the inescapable destruction of the last archaeological levels of the Lede du Gurp by coastal erosion, an excavation was conducted in 2014. This well-know site presents an exceptional, almost continuous stratigraphic from 9th to 1st millenium B.C. Several trenches of diagnosis permitted to identify the different phases of occupation whose chronology was established crossing data related to the studies of ceramic remains and to several new radiocarbon dates. The discovery of anthropogenic structures (pit, wattle) and abundant rubbish (pottery, bones) suggests an intense attendance in the end of the middle Neolithic (Chasséen), the recent Neolithic I (Matignons) and II (Peu-Richard maritime) – probably linked with a salt production- and in the ancient-middle Bronze age. A paleoparasitology analysis was achieved thanks to the conservation of organic materials in wet sediments.
