Abstract : The article focuses its attention on a point often overlooked in the analysis of the historical development of the social sciences in France: the teaching. Has referred to the ambition that have reasoned exercise of the research and teaching of the social sciences is at the university, is secondary: the political and social citizenship illuminated by a professional critic. The analysis of proposed changes to the secondary shows that this teaching concept has been threatened by development proposals sidewalks on utilitarianism rather than its critical dimension.
