First Results of Optimal Control of Average Biogas Production for the Chemostat Over an Infinite Horizon

Abstract : In this work we study the optimal control problem of maximizing the average biogas production over an infnite horizon. We consider a large class of growth rate functions that depend on substrate and biomass concentrations and we solve this problem for the chemostat model. The obtained optimal control is a autonomous state feedback.
