Un modèle pour l'intégration sémantique de données géolocalisées liées à l'observation de la terre (Atelier SAGEO 2016)

Abstract : Earth Observation is a rapidly evolving domain. ESA recently launched the Sentinel 1 and 2 satellites, which will deliver between 8 and 10 TB of data per day, opening the opportunity to emerging new domain-oriented applications. One of the challenges to be addressed in the field concerns the integration of heterogeneous data coming from different sources. In this context, semantic technologies play a key role by providing an infrastructure based on RDF and ontologies. We present an approach to enrich traditional metadata of satellite imagery with external data (e.g., the region depicted in the image has been recently affected by extreme weather) which allows to identify relevant images using a larger set of matching criteria. We propose a semantic vocabulary and a formalization of spatio-temporal relationships to be used as basis for the integration process of various geo-spatial data linked to earth observation.
