Impact of sedimentary-diagenetic facies on weathering of carbonate building stone
Impact du faciès sédimento-diagénétique sur l'altération en œuvre d'un géomatériau calcaire
Résumé
Fronteau G., Barbin V., Pascal A., 1999, Impact of sedimentary-diagenetic facies on weathering of carbonate building stone. Comptes Rendus de l'Académie des Sciences-Abstract: Observation and characterization of weathering of different buildings stones from the eastern area of the Paris Basin show the importance of sedimentary and diagenetic facies. A comparison between the harshness of environment exposure and the microfacies allows the evolution of stone decay to be classified according to different telogenetic behaviours. The durability of building stones can be related to their conditions of use, to the developed weathering or to the degradation conditioned by the microfacies of the limestone ('preferential weathering').
