Further evidence of biodegradability of the POP chlordecone under methanogenic conditions

Résumé

Measurement of chlordecone and 5b-hydrochlordecone at the entrance, exit and in the sludge of two full-scale anaerobic digesters treating contaminated rum vinasses confirms the capacity of such environments to eliminate them, suggesting that methanogenic sludges could be used as microbial agents in the remediation of impacted environments.
