The molluscs from Bourgogne Franche-Comté: towards a new inventory

Despite numerous malacological works in Bourgogne Franche-Comté, there is currently no synthesis on the continental molluscs living in that region. This is all the more frustrating that the diversity of continental habitats and the associated richness in mollusc species could lead to exciting ecological and biogeographical analyses. The Conservatoire botanique national de Franche-Comté–Observatoire régional des Invertébrés (CBNFC-ORI), the Société d’Histoire Naturelle du Creusot (SHNC) and the laboratory Biogéosciences from the Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté decided to federate their forces in order to coordinate their sampling efforts, to share information on critical sites and to start building an up-to-date malacological inventory at the scale of the region.
