Process for controlled radical polymerization in the presence of carbon nanotubes as initiator and control agent.

Résumé

The invention relates to polymeric materials contg. carbon nanotubes, and more particularly the synthesis of these materials by radical polymn. controlled in soln. or dispersed medium in which starting and control are ensured by the carbon nanotubes. This process provides for improved dispersion of nanotubes in the polymer. Thus, heating 15 mL dioxane contg. 0.2 g MWNT and 27.78 × 10-3 mol acrylic acid 40 min at 115° in the absence of O, adding 25 × 10-3 mol Me methacrylate, and heating 120 min at 115° gave a block copolymer contg. MWNT. [on SciFinder(R)]
