SUI-RÉFÉRENTIALITÉ DU PERFORMATIF ET NARRATIVITÉ

ABSTRACT The notion of collateral proposal is already in the beginning of the nineteenth century texts (ARNAUD & LANCELOT, 1803), its works exactly as the URMSON's parenthetical verb (1952) which allowed AUSTIN to dilute the opposition of the constative and the performative in the generalized performativity. But this generalization is facing two major problems. The first is the recognition that certain acts such as insults or flattery may not have prefix performative, therefore they are relegated in the perlocutionary act or put in parenthesis. The second is in the assessment of performativity depending on the reaction of the recipient. From the epistemological point of view, the first breach the requirement of completeness, and the second breaks the rule of non-contradiction. We propose to solve these problems, to introduce the narrativity in the analysis of the illocutionary in accordance with the sui-referentiality of the performative, understood as an escape from reality.
La notion de proposition incidente se trouve déjà dans les textes du début du XIX ème siècle (ARNAUD & LANCELOT, 1803). Elle fonctionne identiquement au verbe parenthétique d'URMSON (1952) qui a permis à AUSTIN de diluer l'opposition du constatif au performatif dans la performativité généralisée. Mais cette généralisation se heurte à deux problèmes majeurs. Le premier est la reconnaissance que certains actes comme l'insulte ou la flatterie ne peuvent pas avoir de préfixe performatif, dès lors ils sont relégués dans le perlocutoire ou mis entre parenthèse. Le deuxième se trouve dans l'évaluation de la performativité en fonction de la réaction du destinataire. Du point de vue épistémologique, le premier contrevient à l'exigence d'exhaustivité, et le second enfreint la règle de la non contradiction. Nous proposons, pour résoudre ces problèmes, d'introduire la narrativité dans l'analyse de l'illocutoire en conformité avec la sui-référentialité des performatifs, comprise comme une fuite du réel.
