Abstract : Knowledge engineering is a field of computer science that covers fields as diverse as philosophy , cognitive science , terminology to define models and tools for designing intelligent systems based on explicit knowledge. Knowledge engineering is directly related to the more general process of knowledge discovery. Its process involves human and IT environment. This process is performed according to different modalities and reinvents itself at an accelerated pace with the web that has gradually become a unique environment combining IT and human resources systems. Articles are grouped into three themes: ontologies from their philosophical basis to their construction , extraction of knowledge from texts and the semantic web.
