Intégration de données et découverte de connaissances appliquées à la biologie

Abstract : Our work lies within the scope of the integration of biological data, the representation and the assistance to knowledge discovery with regard to a particular biological problem: the construction of biological regulation networks. We proposed an automated system allowing to build regulation networks starting from experiments of bio chips. This system was validated by biologists’ partners and bioinformatics researchers. We also proposed a formalism of representation and export of biological knowledge based on XML, and another one, based on the graph theory, having for goal to contribute to discovering new knowledge in biology, by searching for the similarity between the various networks of regulations. Finally, we developed a client of Web services in java, aiming to automatise the search for homologies between genetic sequences.
