Retailing and rurality - From the rural shops to retailing participating in the construction of ruralities
Commerce et ruralité – Du commerce rural au commerce participant à la construction des ruralités
Résumé
In France of the 2000s, the relative preservation of the rural retailing is widely explained by its capacities to adapt itself, in its own way, to the renewal of the "values" or at least the reflections concerning for example the healthy diet, the ethics of retailing relations or the new manners to make society. Small shops, alternative models of retailing or large-scale retailing, the various forms of rural retailing seem actually in favorable position in a consumer society of sustainable development, when it cares to give more sense to products and to acts of purchase, or when it adorns the proximity of all the virtues. These repositionings are not specific to France, nor even to western countries. They correspond to widely internationalized questions.
