Decision-making with the incremental cost-effectiveness ratio under uncertainty

Abstract : This paper deals with the use of confidence regions for the incremental costeffectiveness ratio (ICER) at the decision making level in medico-economic evaluations, which is not direct, because two identical ICER can be associated with two totally opposite findings. To solve this problem, we propose to provide the confidence region of the form of a single directed sector. First, the truncated methods are developed using specific algorithm for providing a single directed sector and the associated decision-making, with respect to the "Willingness To Pay" of the society. Second, the performance of these methods are analysed using other specific algorithms for computing the confidence region coverage in Monte Carlo experiments.
