Abstract : New ways of socializing among the young people have emerged during the last two decades, mainly thanks to the outburst of web 2.0. Internet has become a new living environment, mainly for teenagers. If the opportunities that the Internet as a new territory, are wide, research shows that some young people have an excessive use of the Internet, to the detriment of any other kind of social life. This paper proposes a synthesis of the scientific literature on the quantitative study of the excessive use of the Internet among the young people in France. These researches show that a certain number of young people are heavily involved in online activities. It seems obvious that research needs to be further developed in this area today to improve prevention.
