La perception sensible du peintre et théoricien chinois Feng Zikai à l’époque républicaine

Abstract : The artist Feng Zikai (1898-1975) developed a new aesthetics reinterprating the categories of aesthetic appreciation of Chinese traditional painting and understood Western painting through his own framework. An awareness of Chinese identity led him to some surprising simplifications in his perception of Chinese or Western painting. Thus, he saw Van Gogh as the archetype of the Eastern hermit. The essay analyses the pictorial perception of Feng Zikai through his numerous educational essays, being careful to place them in the context of the aesthetic thought of his time.
