Abstract : Nowadays, face recognition represent one of the privileged fields of search due to the emergence of the security in many domains. This thesis lies within this scope, and more particularly, in the three-dimensional face recognition. In this work, we are interested to the complementary fields : 3D facemodelling and recognition. Whereas modelling task aims at 3D face shape acquisition, recognition task aims at the identification of a probe face model among faces stored in a data base (gallery) or verify his identity. For that, two approaches are studied and implemented : (i) an hybrid approach for facial acquisition based on active vision and geometrical modelling, and (ii) an approach for aligning facial surfaces before computing similarities between 3D models. A new 3D face database is collected within the IV² French project in order to make signifiant experiments and evaluations of the developed algorithms.
