TEPOS – Un jeu pour atteindre l'autonomie énergétique

Abstract : The TEPOS game is a serious role-based game that simulates the energy self-sufficiency of a territory and explains the possible stumbling block that can occur during the implementation of an energy infrastructure project. It addresses the issue of energy transition in terms of: the technical feasibility of projects, their environmental impacts and their social acceptability. It is addressed to stakeholders involved in the implementation of energy self-sufficiency projects, as part of a territorial development project, training, consultation meeting, or an awareness campaign. It helps local authorities and other public projects instigator develop a good understanding on the energy transition issue, to exchange and consider with their partners the locks and levers for action to implement wind farm or wood energy infrastructures. It can also be used by building companies responsible for setting up these infrastructures, either for in-house training or during a consultation process. The game features a community of municipalities with its wind and wood-energy managers, a wind-farm operator, the Regional Directorates for Environment, Development and Housing (DREAL), a public forester representative and a private forester. The processes simulated by the computer are energy production, forest regeneration, specific diversity of forest stands, social acceptability of energy infrastructure projects, impact of infrastructure on bird and bats populations, as well as economic constraints of stakeholders.
