Résumé

This article explores the representation of Venice in Percy Bysshe Shelley's Poetry from two standpoints, a transtextual one that shows to what extent his descriptions are indebted to experience and previous reading, especially J.C. Eustace's Classical Tour to Italy, and an image-, even myth-making one that studies how the poet creates new images, which may still betray the presence of Venice in his poetry.
