Images de l’immeuble dans «La Vie Mode d’emploi» : une BD de façade ? : «Travailler avec un dessinateur de BD»

Abstract : The cartoon, which is omnipresent in the work of Georges Perec, enters in particular in the manufacture of his novel "La Vie Mode d'emploi" (Hachette, 1978). From the point of view of diegetic content on the one hand, because of the many references to comics in the novel. From the point of view of the narrative device on the other hand, in relation to the buildings without facades dear to caricaturists of the 19th century. In fact, the layout of the rooms in the "La Vie Mode d'emploi" building presents a sufficiently strong analogy with the modern comic strip so that the narrative model can be brought closer to the work with certain aspects of the figurative narrative. The façade hides an internal organization comparable to that of the modern comic board, more precisely to the grid that structures this board.
