Poésie wisigothique dans l’exemplification du Liber Glossarum

Abstract : This paper explores a number of glosses modelled on sources containing examples extracted from Visigothic poetry or from late-antique poets familiar in the cultural circles of Visigothic Spain, often attributed to Isidore (Eugenius, Dracontius, Ausonius, Prudentius, Sedulius, Hispanic hymns and epigrams, among others). This is the case of the glosses on the figures of speech modelled on Julian of Toledo‟s grammar, of glosses based on Isidore‟s Etymologies, and of those reusing an eighth-century treatise surviving in Erfurt, Universitätsbibliothek, Dep. Erf. CA. 2º 10, usually identified as Quod, which draws on Julian‟s grammar. Finally, the presence of a particular version of Mallius Theodorus‟ De metris, exhibiting examples common to the Visigothic grammatical tradition, similar to another version of Mallius copied in Berlin, Staatsbibliothek Diez. B Sant. 66, will be examined.
