Pisces (PI 233) : Estudio de la técnica de composición de una glosa enciclopédica del Liber Glossarum

Abstract : This paper aims to provide a thorough reading of one of the long encyclopedic glosses of the Liber glossarum, namely the gloss pisces (PI 233). The present approach to this text proves useful to describe the compositive technique of the encyclopedic gloss as the result of a patient well-organized process of assembling different sources together. By considering the text of his sources and the choices (selection, rejection, rearrangement, paraphrase, etc.) made by the responsible of the gloss, its pattern and informative intentions become apparent, which certainly allows a better understanding of how the encyclopedic glosses of the Liber glossarum were written and developed.
