Aides humaines à domicile jour et nuit : quel habiter lorsque le quotidien est partagé par nécessité ?

Abstract : The regulatory framework of the law of 11 February 2005 made it possible to finance hours of personal assistance, performing the essential acts of daily life. This compensation can reach a daily coverage of 24 hours, and even more if necessary. Also, living at home, for people with disabilities that threaten their biological survival, has now become an option that no longer requires major risk-taking, it is a possible choice. However, these new ways of dealing with disability have an impact on daily life and its quality. Living with professionals 24 hours a day is a choice but also a challenge. Many dimensions of daily life have changed significantly as a result. How do people with disabilities deal with all these implications of the 24-hour presence of professionals? For example: to preserve their privacy? To stay in control of their homes? To promote respectful and adequate working conditions for professionals? To remain autonomous and subject of their lives? To preserve their families? This research note shows how these issues translate into home adaptations and improvements. A first chapter will be devoted to exploring the developments made with regard to human aids, a second chapter will explore the relationship between human aids and technical aids, and a last chapter will deal with the challenges of controlling one's life at home.
