Systèmes multi-agents et phénomènes d’émergence : donner forme par actions et interactions

Abstract : Programming as an activity has reached artists and designers in their daily life. This article aims to show how programming can help them to design interactive systems and generate complex structures. The design of multi-agent systems (MAS) made by media artists will be taken into consideration. Their attributes will be analyzed in order to define a certain way of programming that allows to create systems with emergent dynamics and behaviors. The concept of epistemic emergence will be used in order to outline the novelty that can emerge through evolutionary computer simulations in digital art.
