Le linguistique et le littéraire. Qu’apportent les manuscrits de linguistes ?

Abstract : Linguistics and literature, these two fields have always gone together, as a pair that is more or less close, more or less loose, opposite even, in the methodologies they each use to approach their object. What about the genetic point of view? The study reveals points of passing and sharing between linguistics and literature from the archives and manuscripts of two illustrious linguists: Saussure and Benveniste. We will see that although their « professional » interests have never left the field of linguistics, their research on literature, however, innervates their theoretical writings and shows how relevant it is to turn to literature in order to understand linguistic workings.
