Les géodispositifs cinématographiques : l’espace mis en action

Abstract : This paper aims to decipher the role of maps, GIS, geographic databases, and other geospatial apparatus in movies. The authors begin by quickly sketching the theoretical framework and defining the notions. They continue with a typological grid to describe the geographic apparatus in movies, based on a collection assembled in a collective blog. Using specific films as examples, the different types are listed and illustrated. After an analysis of geospatial apparatus specific to the cinema, the conclusion focuses on the contribution of this type of analysis for both cinema and cartography.
