L'utilisation de la vidéo dans la formation professionnelle des enseignants novices

Abstract : There is a growing use of video in beginning teachers’ professional development. Because of the institutional reform of teacher education, video use is intended to bring academic training and in-school training sessions closer together. This approach seems to be particularly fitting alternate academic and training sessions because of its unique capacity to capture the richness and complexity of the classrooms. While there is an apparent consensus over the use of video inbeginning teachers’ professional development, a refined analysis of the literature in this field reveals agreements, controversies but also possible research fields. Drawing on a clarification of these major fields, this article provides food for thought on the circumstances in which video can reconcile the abstract nature of initial teacher training with real classroom situations.
