Conflits liés aux activités extractives et émergence d'une co-construction territoriale en Argentine

Abstract : The territorialisation dynamics of extractive activities in rural spaces will be questioned through the analysis of the three pillars of the global economy in Argentina: intensive agriculture –soybeans-, oil extraction and the mining activities. Although the spatial organization of these activities is fundamentally different, the principles governing their territorialisation are relatively similar and enable to deal with the strategies of “making territory”. Socioeconomic and environmental conflicts are the main drivers of this territorialisation. The conflictual processes come along with negotiations on development models brought by these activities. When negotiations and dialogue happen in-between stakeholders, a territorial co-construction sets up, through public and private logic hybridization. These conflicts also enable to question the models promoted by transnational corporations in charge of the exploitation of resources and the alternatives proposed by collectives that form in civil society.
