Mental maps are witnessing a return of interest in geography, especially at the point where societies interact with their environments. Drawing on a blank sheet of paper can be one of the forms of these maps as it enables a greater freedom of schematic representations. In the framework of two thesis in geography drawing is realized during semi-structured interviews. The aim is to understand the environmental and land managers perceptions of space. Through different perspectives and reflections this publication shows, on one hand, the advantage of this tool in grasping "subjective territories" and their various dimensions, and on the other hand, its terms of use, the choice of the method up to the interpretation of the results.
