A la recherche du profil syntaxique des noms d’affect.

Abstract : In this chapter, we address the combinatorial study of the lexicon according to the following hypothesis: syntactic distribution of affect nouns can be used to refine the semantic analysis. With the help of the EMOLEX Treebank, we analyze the distribution of affect nouns in subject or direct-object positions, and then in specific distributions: Pro_experiencer V N_affect (j'éprouve de la jalousie 'I feel jalousy'; il ressent de la honte 'he feels shame') and N_affect V Experiencer (la peur l'étreint 'fear embraces him/her', la jalousie le ronge 'jealousy devours him'). If the first distribution is hard to interpret, the pattern N affect V Experiencer selects a subset of "caused" affect nouns, exogen or endogen nouns including a cause-thematic role.
