Ambient RD energy harvester synthesis
Résumé
A brief discussion on the level and the availability of ambient RF energy in modern society will introduce this talk, which aim at describing the rectification mechanism present in rectenna at low power. A fundamental theory predicting the rectifier efficiency including the effects of matching network insertion losses through an easy-to-understand analytical model will be presented. The use of this analytical tool to synthesize rectenna toward the effective use and recycling of such an ambient electromagnetic energy will be detailed and it will be shown how to correctly predict the best components for a given harvesting scenario and how this tool can be used for advanced maximum power point tracking.
