Selective coupling functionalities for on-chip mode-division multiplexing

Abstract : In the first part of this contribution, we review the operating principles of directional couplers enabling mode selection in on-chip mode-division multiplexing interconnects. In the second part we propose a two-mode symmetric coupler performing the routing of a specific mode between multimode bus waveguides.
