SCRIPTURISATION, GRAMMATISATION ET MODÉLISATION LINGUISTIQUE À LA LUMIÈRE DU CAS DES LANGUES DES SIGNES

Abstract : Sign languages, which have no written form nor a scriptural tradition of their own, have been largely absent from the vast corpus of linguistic literature. However, over the last fifty years, they have become established as a field of study within language sciences. In this particular context, the article describes the palliative system of graphic representation which is currently used in the study of these languages, showing how these practices highlight in a radical counterpoint the broader question regarding the impact of writing on linguistic modelling.
