Résumé

We report on the transport properties of polycrystalline p-type SnSe in a broad temperature range (2 - 800 K) by means of electrical resistivity, thermopower, thermal conductivity, Hall effect and specific heat. The electrical properties confirm the lightly-doped semiconducting nature of SnSe. The low-temperature specific heat data feature an excess contribution, which originates from the low-energy phonon modes characterizing the phonon spectrum of this compound. The thermal conductivity is typical of crystalline solids as shown by pronounced maxima observed at low temperatures. The excellent agreement between the values measured at low and at high temperatures further question the results recently obtained on single crystals.
