Balancing Elastic Traffic Sources

Abstract : We consider heterogeneous elastic traffic sources that dynamically share a common link. We prove that balancing these traffic sources decreases the mean throughput and increases the blocking probability in the presence of admission control. The result generalizes that of Dartois derived for telephone traffic.
