Abstract : Yves Reuter, Cécile Carra Analysis of an alternative method of educational work: the example of a school using Freinet methods. The purpose of the article is to explain and discuss the methods of analysing educational work through a piece of research conducted on a school using Freinet methods. It aims to be a contribution to the debate on the relations between teaching devices and learning practices through a special piece of research and the questions it raises. It revolves around three main issues: describing the context and the goals of the people involved so as to show logical applications at work that could weigh on such research work; explanation of the three big principles implemented: comparison (both diachronic and synchronic), duration, and crossing of theories and methods; and the problems met when setting up the relations between methods of educational work and learning so as to clearly state what is transferable and give some possible answers to these questions.
