Changement climatique : l'agriculture dans l'agenda des solutions

Abstract : The fifth IPCC report (2013) states that human influence on climate change is highly probable. Agriculture already suffered and will respond to that change. The necessary combination of technical and organizational changes allowing us to face these transformations include better short term weather forecast as to enable optimal agricultural practices, improving water management and reducing soil evaporation. Plant breeding aims at improving yields under heat waves and droughts. Agriculture has the potential to contribute to solutions by reducing nitrous oxide and methane emissions and by using the large potential of soils to store carbon on the longer term. Finally, food transitions will also be questioned by the need for carbon mitigation.
