Some statistical issues in microarray data analysis

DNA chips give a direct access to the expression levels of thousands of genes at the same time. This promising technology is a key point of functional genomics. However, the abundance and variability of the data it provides require proper statistical analysis.We first introduce the DNA chip technology and present what biologists hope to learn thanks to it. Some statistical problems raised by these data are then discussed with references to recent bibliography.
