Increasing windings efficiency at high frequencies: hollow conductors and clad metal conductors Formal solution based on the magnetic potential

Résumé

the paper describes an application of the magnetic potential based so-called “A-model” to evaluate magneto harmonic effects in round hollow and clad metals conductors. These technologies of conductors show interesting properties to maximize the energy efficiency of windings. However, beside Finite Element Method simulation no analytical modeling makes it possible to simulate with accuracy those windings. The A-method based on analytical solution without any object meshing, is extended for these two new geometries and reflects accurately the electromagnetic behavior of the analyzed conductors. The mathematical basics are reminded, then the extension for hollow and clad metal conductors in 2D space is presented and chosen applications are also shown. The results have been validated by comparison with FEM simulation.
