Cluster-based Distributed Vertical Handoff Decision Scheme

Abstract : Next Generation Wireless Network (NGWN) environment consists of different networks managed by different operators with different technologies. Trust relationships in such heterogeneous network environment become complex. Therefore, the handoff decision algorithm cannot guarantee the service continuity due to the lack of trust between heterogeneous networks. In this regard, the trust information is an important factor while making the vertical handoff decision. In this paper, we will present a cluster-based Distributed Vertical Handoff Deci sion (C-DVHD) scheme. The simulation presented in this paper shows good results in term of handoff decision delay and power consumption.
