Cooperative education development : Toward ICT reference model”

Abstract : The paper focuses on the modeling of newInformation and Communication Technology competences andskills. Competencies as abstractions of work human behavior,have emerged as a promising concept to make human skills andabilities manageable and addressable. Although competencies area simplification of the ”real” world, they are a more adequateapproximation than the notion of ”knowledge” in traditionalknowledge management approaches as they can represent a set ofskills, knowledge, and abilities that are not easy to be separated.These competencies evolve in the time and their regular update isnecessary. This leads to the development of a reference model forthe ICT competencies and its management, update andmaintenance. We would like in this paper to highlight the relationbetween the requirements of Qatar ICT market competency andthe higher education learners profile with the help of theknowledge acquired during the Master of informatics trainingprograms. This will be done through the establishment of anontological model. This work is part of a new project funded byQNRF (Qatar National Research Fund): PRO-SKIMAPROfessional education development and SKIlls Management -ontology enhanced workplace learning (NPRP7-1883-5-289), incollaboration with the University Lumiere of Lyon (ULL) inFrance.
