Seeing – acting – speaking in geometry : a case study

Abstract : The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyse the confrontation and changing processes of frequentation modes (seeing – acting – speaking) of 1st grade secondary school students (10-11 years old) during two geometric construction tasks. This work is based on a logic analysis of the mathematical concepts involved: the midpoint of a line segment and the circle.
